Members discount: members will need to provide their membership number and have a qualifying period of 1 year membership to obtain the members discounted rate of £25 plus p&p

Dating Certificate Accredited by the DVLA

Do you need a Dating Certificate for your Suzuki motorcycle? Then look no further……..we are here to help!

The dating certificate service is offered for anyone who has an old motorcycle that has never been registered and restored, or one that the DVLA do not hold any records for, and you wish to retain the original or to obtain an age-related registration number plate.

The requirements:

Chassis number - Taken from the headstock or panel on the side of the frame

Engine number 

Your details - Please include your full name, address and postcode

Country of Origin - Was the bike imported and from where ?

Import Docs - Available from the importer. Title, bill of sale and NOVA declaration

Photos

Include good quality photographs of the bike - Please send at 4 Photographs, 1 of the frame number and headstock plate (if fitted)  1 of the engine number and 1 of each side of the bike. Photographs are used for verification so that we can ensure most parts are consistent with the year of manufacture, if a machine has been altered with parts from different years or bikes, the DVLA might wish to class the bike as a special and issue a "Q" plate. Motorcycles may require inspection.

Model  - Try to be exact on the model.

Capacity - Exact cc if possible

Payment: We are unable to accpet cheques, payments can be made via SOC Shop, PayPal or Bank Transfer. 

Payment to be made after receiving confirmation from the Tech Officer that the information received is correct and the dating certificate can be progressed.

Once you have your proof of age letter you can send it along to the DVLA to obtain either your original registration or an age related registration plate. More information about registering your motorcycle can be found at: DirectGov web site.

Certificate Fees:

Non members: A charge of £60 will apply for any dating letter/certificate and must be paid prior to a proof of age letter being issued. P&P £1.75

Members: A charge of £25 will apply for any proof of age letter and must be paid prior to the letter being issued.  P&P £1.75  Please include your membership number in all correspondence as there is a 1 year qaulifying membership to secure the discount, Thank you.

Re-issued certificate fees: 

Non member: £30 not including P&P £1.75

Members: £15 not including P&P £1.75

Please allow a minimum of 28 day once all information has been received by the Technical Officer, postal submissions will take longer.

Note: The validity of Dating Certificates will expire after 6 months from date of issue, please ensure you motorcycle is 90% restored before applying.  Please remember to keep the frame number clear on the bike after restoration for verification purposes.
